Yea it looks cool, until you take a look at their rules in which they state that they own everything posted on the site.
the creators have explained that this part of the ToS is only bad wording on their part. the section you’re referring to is made to secure their rights to host users’ content and making it reblog-able on their site. they have stated that they have no intention of selling user-created content off to third parties, or claiming copyright of it, because the entire aim of the website is to have it be user-funded through premium subscriptions, instead of selling off user information to third parties the way tumblr does.
the ToS is going to be updated to make this distinction clearer.
the team behind pillowfort seem completely legit and passionate about what they do. they regularly reply to questions and concerns by users and potential-users, and are clearly trying to be as transparent about their business model as possible.
